Creating chemical connections!

You would like to shape how we source, manage and improve external manufacturing and the raw materials behind it?
To strengthen our Procurement division, we are looking for you to join our team in Hamburg as soon as possible as
Category Buyer Contract Manufacturing & Raw Materials (m/f/d)
You want to…
- help turn different contract-manufacturing arrangements into a consistent, commercially sound and reliable way of working.
- source and evaluate contract manufacturers and raw-material suppliers, run requests for quotation, compare total costs and prepare clear award
recommendations. - prepare and conduct negotiations on tolling fees, raw-material models, capacity, yields, logistics, payment terms.
- manage the day-to-day procurement side of external manufacturing: orders and call-offs, confirmations, delivery follow-up, price and invoice
issues, claims and supplier escalations. - work closely with Business Units, Operations, Production Planning, Logistics, Quality, Regulatory, Finance and Legal to turn complex
interfaces into executable solutions. - apply our common supplier-management approach and follow agreed actions through to closure.
- support our SAP S/4HANA transformation with practical process, data, testing and user input – and grow into broader raw-material purchasing
responsibility over time. - visit suppliers and take part in audits and negotiations across Europe.
We are looking for…
- a completed degree in business, supply chain, engineering, chemistry or a related field – or a comparable vocational qualification.
- first relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain or the commercial management of external production.
- ideally, experience with contract manufacturing, tolling, outsourced production or a process industry such as chemicals, ingredients,
pharmaceuticals, food or cosmetics. - confidence with ERP systems and spreadsheets; SAP S/4HANA project or key-user experience would be an advantage.
- hands-on experience with offer comparison, cost analysis, negotiations and operational purchasing; exposure to direct materials is highly
welcome. - an analytical, structured and pragmatic mindset: you can make sense of incomplete information, propose a solution and bring the agreed action
to completion. - curiosity, constructive persistence and the ambition to grow into broader category responsibility.
- very good German and English, and willingness to travel within Europe, typically up to 20%.
