A little wink or a hearty laugh conjure wrinkles in our face and reveal stories we have already written. It is not without reason that the skin, our largest organ, is described as a “mirror of the soul”.
Our skin, whether on the face or the rest of the body, experiences a lot − be it the warming sun during a holiday, a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or a stressful office routine. We rely on our skin every day − but it also needs our care and attention to stay beautiful. It is not surprising that skin care is the be-all and end-all of a fresh, natural radiance − And if you take good care of your skin, you can even cover up the traces of a long night and look a few years younger. What more could you want?
From the age of 30, the renewal of skin cells slows down, the skin becomes thinner and loses its elasticity. Rich creams that provide the skin with a lot of moisture can feel “oily”. Especially in spring and summer, many of us look for lightweight, fast-absorbing formulations so that we can put on that airy dress immediately after applying the cream, without it sticking to the skin. This presents formulators with the challenge of developing a cream that creates a delicately soft skin feel while still providing long-lasting moisture.
The spreading cascade is a great help here.
Fast-spreading emollients provide instant, noticeable care and smoothness when applied, but this only lasts for a short time. Slow-spreading emollients, on the other hand, provide long-lasting care but no direct, noticeable smoothing effect. The obvious choice would therefore be a combination of fast- and slow-spreading emollients, but this is not enough to meet the skin’s needs. We also need medium spreaders to fill the sensory gap.

One of the best-known medium spreaders is MCT. And rightly so! This emollient has already been used worldwide for many years and is appreciated for its numerous application possibilities and reliability. Our WITARIX® MCT C8 is a redefinition of the classic MCT with a perfect fit for Sun, Colour and Skin Care products. When applied, WITARIX® MCT C8 is just as rich as traditional MCTs. However, when massaged into the skin for longer, it transforms and changes the skin’s feel from rich and oily to pleasantly light, smooth and velvety, similar to our MIGLYOL® T-C7. This transformation – only through an emollient – is very rare and creates a surprising WOW effect in formulations. So, after an extensive beauty routine, you can slip right into your outfit without having to wait for the lotion to be absorbed. A classic win-win situation.
